I am an Associate Professor and Researcher at the National University of Colombia, Amazon Campus, in Leticia, Amazonas (UNAL-Amazonia), where I was the Director between 2019 and 2022. I hold a Ph.D. in economics from Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

At UNAL-Amazonia I am a Member of the Amazonian Regional Development (DRA) and Transdisciplinary Tourism Studies research groups. My areas of work: ecological economics, bioeconomy, political ecology, global value chains, entrepreneurship, tourism, agri-food chains, food security, urbanization, habitat management, and environmental education. I am also the creator of the Abya Yala Urban Forest Reserve in Leticia, Amazonas.
