I was born in 1964 and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I also started my physics studies at the National University of Buenos Aires. At 20, I moved to Bariloche, in Patagonia, to complete my physics studies at Instituto Balseiro. I also did my Ph.D. at Instituto Balseiro, researching String Theory within the Group of Particles and Fields. Later I moved with my wife and two children to Dresden, Germany, where I had the opportunity to participate in the establishment of the Max-Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems.
In 1997, when it was decided to build the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina, our family returned to Bariloche and I got involved in cosmic ray physics and the construction of the Observatory, which is the world’s largest cosmic ray observatory. Since then, I am an active member of the Pierre Auger Collaboration and currently serve as the Project Manager. I am presently also a researcher at the National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina (CNEA) and an Associate Professor at Instituto Balseiro, teaching different subjects such as Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics.
In my free time I enjoy my environment, kayaking in the surrounding Patagonian lakes and hiking the mountains we have just a few steps from home.
